Organiser Helen Daniels and Mr Joe Trasolini, Mayor of Port Moody, with the Cities-of-Art trophy.

Helen Daniels and a group of the participating artists attended a meeting of the Port Moody City Council on 26th July. Helen wrote: "Our delegation was the 6th of 6 (usually they only allow 3) but I think seeing the website, with all the great images up on a huge screen, really woke people up. Everyone was very impressed! I gave my little speech, introduced the artists who were in town and able to attend, and then showed the trophy. I said it belongs to the artists, but that we would offer it to the city for safe-keeping and display (reserivng the right to get it back to display at the Port Moody Arts Centre, etc.)- the Mayor asked me if I trusted him with it- and I said yes, especially with all the witnesses. Artists Carolyn Sullivan, David Bizzo and Judith Atkinson Our group then adjourned and went to David Bizzos' nearby gallery patio for some bubbly- the artists are already scheming potential collaborative projects with the New Zealand group.
